Editorial Policy

This page explains how TechPathU researches, reviews, and maintains its content — separate from our Transparency page, which covers how we make money.

Who writes this

Content is produced and reviewed under the TechPathU Editorial Team byline rather than attributed to invented individual authors. We'd rather be transparent about an editorial-team model than manufacture a personal biography or credentials that don't exist. If that changes — for example, if a named editor with disclosed credentials joins in the future — we'll update this page and the relevant bylines accordingly.

Editorial methodology

Articles are built from primary sources wherever possible: a program's own pricing and curriculum pages, official bodies like CompTIA, AWS, and the Department of Veterans Affairs, and independent outcomes reporting such as CIRR. Where we cite a specific figure — a price, a timeline, a placement rate — we link to where it came from. Where a claim can't be traced to a specific, checkable source, we either qualify it clearly as a general range or leave it out.

Review methodology

Program reviews compare publicly stated format, cost, curriculum, and available outcomes data. We don't enroll in every program ourselves, and we say so plainly rather than implying first-hand testing we haven't done. Reviews are updated when a program's public information changes materially.

Data methodology

Salary, cost, and placement figures come from named third-party sources (government labor data, published outcomes reports, or a provider's own disclosed numbers) rather than being estimated or invented. Where the underlying data itself is an industry-wide average or range rather than a precise figure, we present it as such instead of implying false precision.

Updating policy

Every article carries a "last reviewed" date. Comparison and pricing pages — where information goes stale fastest — are prioritized for re-checking over purely explanatory content. A recent date reflects an actual content review, not a cosmetic refresh of the timestamp alone.

Corrections policy

If you spot outdated pricing, a broken link, or an error, tell us through the contact form. We review correction requests and update the article and its "last reviewed" date once verified.

AI use in content production

Some drafting and research assistance on this site involves AI tools, used under editorial direction and review rather than published unreviewed. Facts, figures, and claims are checked against the sources described above regardless of how a draft was produced.

Affiliate influence on editorial content

Our affiliate relationships (see Transparency) don't determine how a program is ranked or reviewed. A program we have no financial relationship with — like CareerFoundry, or most entries in our bootcamp directory — is covered on the same standard as our affiliate partners.
